HOSPITALS:  

BAPTIST HOSPITAL EAST, 6019 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN - 901-226-5000
Robert Smith, recovering from back surgery today, June 18th, which was successful; will require a hospital stay through at least the weekend; doctor advised him that he will experience soreness for awhile and that recovery will take 6 to 12 weeks; requests prayers for minimal pain and a complete recovery.


PRAISE THE LORD:  

Nate Harris, son of Amanda Harris and grandson of Larry and Carolyn Harris, was baptized into Christ on Sunday, June 15th, by John Pitman.

SYMPATHY IS EXTENDED TO:  

Carla and Joe Ward, Brandon Ward, and Jackson Ward and Families in the death of Carla’s father and Brandon and Jackson’s grandfather, Vernon Campbell, on Monday, June 16th. Sympathy is also extended to Bennie Campbell, the wife of Vernon, and to Brenda Garner and Family, who was the daughter of Vernon and also former members of SV. The visitation is scheduled for 10:00 am on Thursday, June 19th, at Bartlett Woods Church of Christ, 7900 Old Brownsville Road, Arlington, TN, and the funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 am at the same location.

PRAYERS REQUESTED:  

Sue Burdette, mother of Dan Burdette, was released from St. Francis Hospital on Thursday, May 22nd; cardiologist has scheduled her for a stress test on Thursday, June 19th; currently have no answers regarding her health situation; requests prayers for her and her husband, Charles.

James Garner, former member of SV, had an outpatient minimally invasive procedure last Monday, June 9th, to try to give him some pain relief from degenerative disc disease that he has been dealing with over the past year; procedure went well and he can already tell that he has some pain relief and will now just wait and see how much relief over all and how long it will last; requests prayers for continued relief and a complete healing from the disc disease.

Harper Goode, 13-year-old niece of Katie Sisco Spears who is the daughter-in-law of Dennis and Paula Spears, recovering from emergency brain surgery for a colloid cyst on Saturday, June 14th; currently in PICU at Vanderbilt Hospital; requests prayers for minimal pain and a complete recovery. Harper’s mother, Rachel, and her grandparents, Van and Terry Sisco, are all former members of SV.

Darrell Montgomery, has been discharged from Methodist Germantown and is continuing to recover following successful hip replacement surgery on Wednesday, June 12th; did great in physical therapy last week; requests continued prayers for a quick recovery and that he will soon be able to walk well without pain.   

Gerald Johnson, recovering from a procedure last week regarding balance problems and fluid on the brain; is doing much better and will be going back to doctor on Friday, June 20th, for evaluation; requests prayers for quick and continued recovery and a complete healing.

Mark Louderback, scheduled for surgery on Monday, June 23rd, in San Diego, CA, for open heart surgery due to pulmonary hypertension; will be in hospital for approximately 7 - 14 days; requests prayers for safe travel, successful surgery, minimal pain, and a complete recovery.

Miyah Clark, daughter of Denita Deaton, requests prayers that all goes well with the appeal through the Tennessee Supreme Court on Wednesday, June 25th; also requests continued prayers for patience, guidance, and peace for both Miyah and Denita.

Leslie Whiteside, requests prayers for her son and a friend’s son to turn their lives around, repent, and begin worshiping and serving the Lord.

Jamie Sowell, surgery on Friday, May 30th, went well; radiation consultation set up for July 11th; requests continued prayers for peace, minimal pain, and complete healing.

Alan Whitten, father of Liana Nixon, now at home in Madison, AL, continuing to recover from hernia surgery; surgery discomfort is decreasing and sharp hernia pain is gone so far; requests continued prayers for strength, peace, and a complete recovery; the family requested that Mr. Whitten’s home address of 329 S Back Creek Rd NW, Madison, AL 35757, be noted in case anyone would like to send a note of encouragement.

Jessica Laitinen, scheduled to go to Atlanta on Tuesday, June 24th, for her appointment on Wednesday, June 25th, to get new imaging regarding her back issues and to meet the surgeon to get her care plan and receive her official surgery date; she will return to Atlanta a second time for the actual surgery; requests prayers for peace, strength, safe travels to and from Atlanta, and a successful upcoming surgery.

Mike and Teresa Golden, friends of Paula Spears, have been blessed by many with the essentials of life - food, clothing and shelter - following the complete destruction of their home in Pachuta, MS, due to fire; they are living their faith and being witnesses for Christ that all they lost were "earthly material things"!

Alice Tapper, mother of Paula Spears, prayers of thanksgiving as her right eye is back to baseline vision; requests continued prayers as she continues with treatment for her wet macular degeneration; fortunately, her left eye is not affected.

Rhonda Keithly, cousin of Suzanne Jones, recently spent a few days in ICU as she had a brain bleed and also a gash in her head that was caused when she fell and hit her head; doctor does not believe she had a stroke and has prescribed baby aspirin to see if that will absorb the bleeding; lives in Durrant, OK.

Dwayne Dubree, had a full knee replacement on left knee on Thursday, May 29th, as an outpatient; doing good although he has had some rough days; has had his first PT day in person at OrthoSouth and he received a good report; requests prayers for strength, minimal pain, and a complete recovery.

Wayne McDaniel, cousin of Suzanne Jones, had a procedure recently and was in ICU; now at home and requests prayers for strength and a complete recovery; also prayers that he will develop a hunger and thirst for Jesus.
